Dallas Mavericks' JJ Redick Retires from NBA

Former Sharpshooter Embarks on New Career

JJ Redick, who spent 15 seasons in the NBA, has announced his retirement from basketball. The former Dallas Mavericks shooting guard made the announcement on his podcast, "The Old Man & The Three."

Redick, 37, was a two-time All-Star and one of the league's most prolific three-point shooters. He finished his career with a 41.5% three-point shooting percentage, ranking 10th all-time. Redick also averaged 12.8 points per game for his career.

Redick was drafted by the Orlando Magic with the 11th overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft. He also played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Pelicans, and Dallas Mavericks.

In a statement, Redick thanked the Mavericks for "an incredible two years." He also thanked his teammates, coaches, and fans for their support throughout his career.

Redick is now set to embark on a new career as a sports analyst. He will join ESPN as an NBA analyst, and he will also host his own podcast.

Redick's retirement is a reminder that even the best athletes have to hang up their sneakers eventually. But he leaves the game with a legacy as one of the most successful shooters in NBA history.
