Arvind Kejriwal Released from Tihar Jail

Delhi CM Walks Free After 50 Days

Supporters and AAP Workers Jubilant

India's top court has granted interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal more than a month after he was arrested in a corruption case. Kejriwal walked out of Tihar jail on Friday after spending 50 days behind bars.

Kejriwal's release was met with jubilation by his supporters and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers. They had gathered outside the jail since morning, waiting for his release. Kejriwal was greeted with garlands and sweets as he walked out of the jail. He then addressed his supporters briefly, thanking them for their support.

Kejriwal was arrested on May 25 in connection with a corruption case related to the Delhi government's water tanker scam. He was accused of approving the purchase of 1,000 water tankers without following proper tendering procedures. Kejriwal has denied the allegations, calling them politically motivated.

The Delhi High Court had earlier denied bail to Kejriwal, but the Supreme Court granted him interim bail on Friday. The court said that Kejriwal was not a flight risk and that he had cooperated with the investigation. The court also noted that Kejriwal was suffering from health problems.

Kejriwal's release is a major victory for the AAP, which has been facing a series of setbacks in recent months. The party is hoping that Kejriwal's release will help it regain some of its lost momentum.

The corruption case against Kejriwal is still ongoing. It is unclear when or if he will be charged with any formal charges.
